261 Businesses and Business Leaders Join The Chamber During Membership Event
Chamber Membership Event utilized over 160 volunteers to recruit new members
A record 261 new chamber members joined The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce during the three day membership event, October 6-8. Over 160 volunteers joined together during the membership event to recruit new members.
“We are ecstatic about the results of the membership event,” said Mike Houston, chairman of the board for The Chamber. “We had a lot of fun during the event and were able to demonstrate that the business community is stronger when united through chamber membership.”
Membership event co-chairs included Mayor Tim Davlin; Ed Curtis, Memorial Health System; Satch Pecori, Hanson Professional Services; Desiree Logsdon, Bunn-O-Matic; Tom Marantz, Bank of Springfield and Kevin O’Dea, Neuhoff Media.
“The support of business leaders during the membership event greatly contributed to its success,” said David Earhart, Director of Marketing and Membership at The Chamber. “We are thankful for all the volunteers who contributed to the success of the membership event.”
Over the past five years, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce has achieved a growth in membership, and is positioned to see an increase again in 2009. This marks the first time since 1984 that The Chamber has had five consecutive years of membership growth. Area businesses recognize that Chamber membership offers members access to the heart of the business community. This
access provides members with opportunities to connect with others that can increase their business specifically as well as support something larger, the Quantum Growth Partnership (Q5), which is working to grow our local economy and improve the business climate overall.
