What happens after Pinocchio gets his wish and turns into a real boy? This family-oriented first of two White Rabbit musical productions (Comic Book Artist isn’t a musical) in our season reveals how Geppetto must learn to become a real father to his new son. The music and lyrics are written by Stephen Schwartz, best known for the Broadway phenomenon Wicked.
Springfield Theatre Centre would like to announce that auditions for our first White Rabbit Series show of the season, Disney’s Gepetto & Son, will take place Saturday, October 3rd at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.
The classic tale of an aging toymaker and his puppet, Pinocchio, takes on timely issues in Disney's Gepetto & Son. Grammy Award-winner and master melodist Stephen Schwartz adds a compelling score of original songs to the beloved classics "When You Wish Upon a Star" and "I’ve Got No Strings." Join the Blue Fairy, Stromboli and a lively cast of characters as Geppetto journeys beyond the Toy Shop to discover what makes the "perfect child."
Director Craig Williams II returns to STC after directing last seasons’s Snow White and Disney’s High School Musical at the Muni in August. Also on staff, Kelly Bassett is Assistant Directing, Sara Baltusevich will be the show’s musical director, and choreography will be handled by Anna Bussing
